Listings

1. What condition can I expect from used records at Top Shelf Records?

Every used record we sell at Top Shelf Records is carefully graded according to the Goldmine Standard, ensuring transparency about its condition. We ultrasonically clean each pre-owned vinyl to remove dust and impurities, so it reaches you in the best possible quality. From checking sound quality to inspecting the sleeve’s condition, we ensure that each record is in excellent shape before it’s offered for sale. This way, you can shop with confidence, knowing that our used records are carefully curated and prepared.

2. Is the picture on the listing of the actual record I'm buying?

Yes, for used records it is. Unless the photo has a 'stock' logo on it, we always use pictures of the actual record and anything that comes with it.

New records will have teh stock images supplied by the record company.

3. Can you send me extra information or pictures of one of your listings?

We would be happy to help you with any extra details about a record you are interested in buying. Just get in touch with us and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.

4. Can I place a special order for a record that’s not in stock?

Absolutely! We’re happy to help track down records that aren’t currently in stock. If there’s a particular album you’re looking for, just reach out to us through our contact page with as much detail as possible. We’ll do our best to source it for you, whether it’s a recent release or a rare collectible.

5. Are new and used records priced differently?

Yes, the pricing for new and used records does vary. New records generally have consistent pricing based on the retail market, while used records are priced based on factors like condition, rarity, and the specific pressing. Some used records are particularly valuable due to their collectibility and historical significance. At Top Shelf Records, we work to offer fair pricing for both new releases and good quality used finds.

6. What do you do with inner sleeves?

If the record came to us with an inner protective sleeve in bad shape, we will replace it with a new rice paper sleeve to keep the record better protected. This will normally be noted on the listing. We will also include the original sleeve in the package when shipped out to you.

7. How do I find information like matrix numbers?

Usually, if it is a notable release we will list the matrix numbers/run-out info in the listing title and/or the 'product details' on the product page.

Shipping and Returns

1. How do you package your records for transport?

We use a solid cardboard mailer that is specially designed and manufactured for shipping vinyl records. We have tested a few on the market and this one, while more expensive is the most solid, safest and protective to ship a vinyl record we have seen. These will fit between 1 and 4 vinyl records so if you have multiple purchases in one order they will be shipped in the one package.

2. What is your return policy?

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from Top Shelf Records. If for any reason you’re unsatisfied, you can return the record within 7 days, provided it’s still in its original condition. Our goal is to make returns as simple as possible, so please visit our Returns page for detailed instructions and conditions.

3. How long will it take for my order to arrive?

For customers in Australia, standard delivery typically takes 2-6 business days, while express shipping arrives within 1-2 business days. We provide tracking for all orders, so you can check the progress of your delivery at any time.

4. Do you offer international shipping?

Unfortunately, we only ship within Australia at the current time. We will be going international in the near future.

5. How can I sell my records to Top Shelf Records?

We’re always on the lookout for quality vinyl collections, especially in genres like Rock, Classic Rock, Heavy Rock, Australian Rock, and Punk Rock.
